You discover how chasing relief actually signals danger to your nervous system. We introduce outcome independence, box breathing, and begin identifying pain behaviours that are maintaining the cycle.
We introduce somatic tracking at level one and design your first graded exposure to an avoided movement. Expressive writing begins and we explore where safety already exists in your life.
Using the Internal Family Systems model, we explore the parts of you that resist recovery and what they are protecting. Emotional activation work begins alongside cognitive reframing of pain-related thoughts.
You learn the NABS/NOW framework for responding to symptom spikes with calm leadership rather than fear. We also introduce Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy, known as EAET, to help safely access, express and release emotions, stress or trauma responses that may be held in the body and contributing to persistent pain. Traditional or more active somatic tracking is introduced based on your progress, and one valued activity is reintroduced.
We address the spotlight effect of hypervigilance and teach you to shift attention outward. Positive sensations are actively cultivated and messages of authentic safety are embedded into daily practice.
Advanced somatic tracking at level three begins. You learn to experience sensation as information rather than danger. The open-focus attention tool introduces a new way of relating to your pain experience.
We consolidate your preferred somatic tracking protocol, build your personalised flare management plan, and create your 30-day ladder progression. You leave with a complete independent practice framework.
